***Christmas Tree***

Hey!! I have finally finished my tree today, I have been slacking! I couldn't find the mesh anywhere until I went to Michael's yesterday and they had some. I have never seen it there, so I bought a bunch just to make sure I had enough. Join me and I will take you through the process of how I decorated the tree.

Here is the tree before I have done anything to it. Last year my parents gave us this tree that they had bought the year before.

I used one roll of gold and one roll of red.

I started at the top of the tree and scrunched the mesh going down the tree and just securing it on the tree branches.

The red is appearing orange-y in these pictures but it is more of a true red.

After adding the mesh I added all of the ornaments that I wanted to put on the tree. I would love to add some more ornaments to it to make it really full, but I'm happy with the way that it turned out. Maybe I will add more next year.

Instead of doing a ribbon bow for the top I did a mesh bow. I made it the same way you would make a regular bow.

Next I added a bunch of red and gold picks in and around the mesh bow. Here is a picture of the tree all lit up.

Close up

Here is a close up of the topper. It is very whimsical and pretty!

A few years back I bought this tree skirt at Hobby Lobby. I love it! It has a muted green color in it so I added some of the same colored ornaments to the tree to tie them in together.

Here is a picture of the tree with the lights off. I have the tree on a timer, it comes on around 5 and stays on til 10. I love the warm glow it gives to the front room.

Well, I hope you enjoyed our Christmas tree! I will be back in a few days with a post of our foyer.

Have a great rest of the week!

Allyson,
Great job with the mesh and the tree topper is adorable. I used red and gold mesh on my living room tree. Your tree skirt is pretty, too! Well done girl, I can't wait to see more. xo ~Liz

Lovely tree. I have mine on a timer too. Had to move it up on hour early because of getting dark earlier. Great use of the mesh.

Your tree looks beautiful. That mesh is a hot item this season. I think gals are catching on, and learning more how to use it.

Beautiful tree Allyson! I hopefully will be posting pics soon, I am just trying to find the cord for my camera :(
I had the hardest time finding mesh this year too. Our michaels didn't have any, I actually found some at sams club.

Very pretty! We have our timers set the same! I couldn't get mesh this year because Hobby Lobby was out. I can't ever remember in August!

Beautiful tree, Allyson! I couldn't find more of the mesh around here either. I'm convinced all the stores were sending their supplies up to Seattle because Liz was buying them out up there.....lol!
