Hey guys!! I hope you are having a happy Wednesday! I was inspired to make a jewelry holder like Kara did. I had all of the supplies I needed without having to buy a thing. Don't ya love that!! I will take you through the steps I did to achieve this look.
Here is what I used
Here is the frame just plain nothing done to it yet.
First I painted the entire frame blue, I did two coats.
*all photos enlarge when clicked*
After that was dry I mixed a brown paint and a gold metallic paint together as you see above, I brushed it on and then wiped it off. You have to work kinda fast since this pant dries so fast.
Here is a better picture of the color.
For the screen to hang my jewelry on I used poly deco mesh. I don't remember what I bought this for but it came in handy now!! I just cut strips to fit and secured them with hot glue. Here is the finished product, I love the way it turned out.
This is what my jewelry box looks like right now, UGH I needed something to organize all of this stuff.
I have blue, brown and gold colors in my room and bathroom, I think this will match perfectly. I hope you all enjoyed my jewelery hanger. I have another frame like this that I may turn into a necklace holder or add a holder to this one. Hmm decisions, decisions.
I will be linking this to Kara for Whassup Wednesday

Have a great day!!

Very cute Allison! I have seen these around at the craft fairs and tried to make one last week for my business. It did not turn out too well! I was trying to use some left over screen we had. I also was trying to use a staple gun. Unfortunately the tighter I pulled it, the screen tore, and it was very difficult to get the staple gun angled on the frame. I didn't think of using hot glue, that's an excellent idea. I also like the deco mesh better too! Our walmart also has a plastic mesh in the fabric dept. I was looking at as well. I am sure I will be trying this again soon. I love the color you chose for this, it's very pretty!
Adorable. My Mom was making those many years ago before they were even popular. She used screen. I love yours, so cute and colorful.
