Hey guys!! I hope you all had a great weekend! We have decided to get a new TV, I am wanting your opinions on some things. I have picked out the TV console I like, I just cannot decide to go with all of the same wood tones, as far as matching the coffee table, console and a DVD storage cabinet. Awhile back I showed you some coffee tables, I think I have decided on which one I am gonna get, which is pictured below. All of the reviews say that this table is darker than the picture, I don't know if I am sold on it yet.
Here is the tv console we are going to get, it's from Best Buy. In the pictures the colors look similar, but you just never know. I guess it doesn't have to match perfectly, I am just sort of a freak about that! HAHA
Here's the TV we are getting, my husband is so excited!! :) I must admit, I am too! It's a 55inch LED Samsung TV.
We have a ton of DVD's, I have been storing them in a dresser that's in our guest room. So, we need to get something to house them. I think this one looks really nice, with extra room to store other things as well.
So, my question to you is would you go with all of the same shade of wood, or do a darker media cabinet, or a darker coffee table. Here's another media cabinet I like and then a different shade of the one above.
Lastly, here is a picture of the room all of this furniture will be going in. We will be putting the TV console where the one is in there right now, and I plan on putting the DVD storage cabinet where the bookcase is right now.
Thanks for all of your help!! :)

I love the table and it's finish is beautiful...I am a fan of TV console's I just refinished one, I am sure you will not be disappointed in your choices! They all look perfect!
I don't mind mixing wood tones...I have 3 different types in my living room! But it is all up to your particular taste. I LOVE the coffee table and cabinet. They are going to look perfect in your room! Good luck!

Jane
Hi Allyson,
I love all your choices, how exciting! You are really going to enjoy that new TV.
For some reason, I am really drawn to the darker media cabinet, as I think it will add dimension to the room instead of having all similar wood tones. I'm sure you will get a lot of great advice, though!
Hugs, Liz
I personally don't like everything to be all matchy-matchy. What you've chosen looks pretty. Go with what you truly like best, and usually everything ends-up looking good together.
Personally I would not match the furniture tones..I like mixing the darks and lighter and even throwing in some iron with end tables and such.
I love the coffee table! Gorgeous choice. Have you considered rearranging the room, and placing the tv mounted on the wall where the sofa currently is? Maybe incorporating it with a gallery wall of black frames. Then all of the a/v components (switch to a wireless receiver,so worth it)could go in the media cabinet, which you could place to the left of the fireplace. You'd only have 2 pieces of furniture to worry about coordinating then. Just a thought. Can't wait to see what you decide on.
I think you can do either or and they both would look good. Beautiful choices. I love the new house. You are going to have so much fun! Your in laws are so nice to let you guys live there while they are gone :)
Can't wait to see it all done.
I love the table too! I personally like all the wood furn. to be the same shade.
Mix and match is the way to go! I love the round coffee table by the way! :)
love the options!!! I am not one for mixing wood tones though.
Ally, I like mixing up wood tones, too. I used to like everything to be exactly the same tone. I'm trying to get away from everything being the same now. I think it adds more interest if things are not exactly the same. Of course it is all personal preference, so go with what you enjoy.
You're going to love the Samsung tv. They have a great picture on them.
have a great day~ L
I would love to see what you pick! I like everything to match in my house but am starting to change after seeing so much out on Blogland.
Hi Allyson, I think I remember liking the coffee table you picked....extra shelf is great for magazine baskets. I also like the darker DVD case good. Because wood varies so much as long as you have similar tones it will look great.Wood furniture by it's very nature is very different. Much success!Emelia.
I do like that table!! It is very pretty! I also like your new pics with the fork and spoon and topiary!
Love all your choices! (We have the exact same TV & luv luv it!) I like to mix it up, but one thing I've learned that if you go with your "gut" and buy what you like - matched or mixed - your style shows through. Can't wait to see what you decide; I'm sure it will be wonderful! :)
thanks for stopping by my blog. you have a beautiful, classy look to your blog.
Hi Allyson, don't you just love getting new (or new to you) stuff! I'm not sure how the round table looks in person, but on my monitor it looks fantastic. Plus, round is good for a coffee table when you've got little ones. We have the same t.v. and so far we love it! Thanks for visiting my blog. I am your 200th follower!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I am in the mix and match camp. I'm looking around at my family room, and I have several wood tones going on. I think it adds interest and dimension. Our TV console is black, and I really think a black piece of furniture gives your eye a place to rest. Just my 2 cents, but go with what you love and I'm sure it will be fabulous!
Wow tough decision! You've got great taste from the looks of things so whatever you choose will look great!
Thanks for stopping by my blog (Mama Fasha). I'm following yours now :)
I like a mix of woods. I like the idea above where one piece of furniture is a color such as black. Makes it all the more interesting. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I hope you come back to visit sometime!

I don't think you need to match all your wood tones. In my living room I also have painted wood.
That might be another option for you.
Your blog looks so pretty!

You've probably already made your decision but for me, I don't like everything to be matchy, matchy. I think the more eclectic, the better! Of course, everyone has to do their own thing so I wish you luck in your decorating. You do such a great job anyway!

If you are interested in hanging the TV, we just framed ours with molding to look like a picture. Just another option :)
